The International Music Summit (IMS) is back in Ibiza next week and the full schedule’s been revealed.
It kicks off on May 20 at the Hard Rock Hotel, and events on the day include Carl Craig’s Detroit Love showcase with Underground Resistance artist Mad Mike and Pete Tong’s keynote interview with Patrick Moxey from Ultra Records.

Later on there’s an IMS Legends dinner celebrating Cocoon and Sven Väth, Black Coffee’s party at Ushuaïa and the first party of Sankeys’ opening party featuring Adam Beyer, Ida Engberg, Noir and more.

May 21 has a talk dedicated to South Africa and an introduction to Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, with the first Dalt Vila party welcoming Solomun, Sven Väth, Luciano and Pete Tong to the decks. David Morales, Louie Vega, Steve Lawler and Amine Edge & Dance also play at various venues on the island.
Ricardo Villalobos was masterful at Cocoon. The villa party that followed was an genuine (albeit unrelenting) highlight of the summer. And now, as we approach 70 hours without sleep, we’re deep into an after-afterparty at my neighbour’s place. I’m not quite sure how or why we ended up outside. But I’m about to bring things to an unceremonious end with a simple question: “Is there sand in my drink?”

It all began with handshakes and pleasantries in a neon West End bar. I was feigning enthusiasm through a merciless hangover, taking a seat with five others in an empty, air-conditioned room. Our new boss wove between us, delivering a hyperactive presentation on the ins and outs of the role: hours, targets, pay, the usual first-day stuff. “And,” he ends with a handclap, “whoever gets the most people in the club each week – wearing your initialed wristbands – wins a gram of anything they like.”

Our New Breed lecture featuring Becky Tong and B.Traits is among the things rounding IMS off on May 22, with the second Dalt Vila party in the hands of MK, Rudimental and more.
